It is the new dawn for Karan Patel and his co-driver Tauseef Khan after emerging as the new African Rally Champions (ARC) 2023 with 144 points.
The team took on a more calculative strategy by maintaining second position throughout to clinch the championship on the first and second days of the tournament in Tanzania.
In the Ford Fiesta Rally 2, Patel finished the event 4 minutes and 41 seconds behind event winner Jas Mangat. Karan had collected 9 points ahead of Jas Mangat who had 111 points.
Speaking during the ceremony, the KCB’s Head of Marketing and Corporate Affairs Christine Manyenye said “We are very happy for Karan Patel and Tauseef Khan for winning this continental title. As the main sponsor, we remain committed to supporting them and ensure they win bigger titles in the future and thus making our brand even stronger,” she said.
The ARC took place in five countries including Kenya, Burundi, Zambia, Zambia, and Tanzania.
